Multiverse School Newsletter - 04/07

🚀 4/7/24 Multiverse School Weekly Newsletter 🚀

Hey Multiverse Crew,

Ok so my mom survived but is not doing amazing and I am throughly wiped out energy-wise. I still left TX as fast as possible, before the eclipse even, that's how badly I did not want to be in TX.

This Week's Classes

Prompt Engineering begins as a 6-week class. It's only $50 a week, or $36 a week if you're under-represented in tech. If I don't have at least 6 before Tuesday I need to push the class by 2 weeks. I put this class as a 6-week block because no one is at all equipped to tell how important any individual class or week is and leaving it up to people to tell if the class "is important" leads to people missing very critical stuff so if you want to learn prompt engineering, you have to take the whole class.

Job Search Standup

This week, no emergencies or flights should derail the schedule 🤞 As a reminder, we'll be out the week following so that Liz can sleep.

  • Let me know here if you got a job, it helps me out and makes me want to keep doing this.

Program Updates

You can register and pay for for upcoming classes, and there's a dashboard where you can manage and see your registrations and what you've paid for.

We've dropped prices and opened up scholarship opportunities. Most classes are $20 per session, or $13.33 for under-represented people in tech. I'm working on re-pricing everything in the back-end, but next week's class is fixed.

Scholarship Opportunities

CS Master's Student Fellowship Program - For Master's Students, do a complex, non-trivial project involving cutting edge AI that you can bring some newbies along with to see a really cool thing get made, get a major break on tuition.

Executives - Run a cutting edge project at the forefront of AGI and then publish it and help it get monetized. Goal is a financial return on the investment of your time as well as a transformative experience of your leadership practice and is often an emotional breakthrough experience. Ask anyone who has gone through it. Major price break on tuition for the contribution towards a project.

Underrepresented in Tech - There's a special price on every page, self-select into this group please, it's 30% off for you. Please discuss with me- I can only admit so many scholarship students and it will take me time to process your request. We can't do 100% scholarships but we can offer some substantial discounts given a description of your circumstances.

Learn to Code Bootcamp This Summer, Begins June 3rd

Here's the Learn to Code bootcamp. This will be a more structured, code-together program, so if you're looking for that, come hang out.

Artificial Intelligence and Agents Track Kicked Off, Hop In 🐰 or wait for Mid-Summer

Here's the entire track. You will need to know how to code. If you want to know all of this and you don't know how to code, enroll in the Learn to Code Bootcamp as well. If you're going to take all of these classes you may as well sign up for the monthly membership.

This is the part of the track you don't need to learn to code for. We'll probably add more here soon about how to use low-code no-code things.

This is the part of the track you need if you understand how to use LLMs, and how to code, but not create autonomous agents.

Complex Adaptive Systems and Game Theory

Now Blake is out. Looks like we'll record again after the break. Y'all better have read the readings by then, and be prepared to discuss them.

Chapter 5 of Plato: Team Reasoning and Conditional Games Part 2 of Finite and Infinite Games (No One Can Play Alone), pages 42-72 in the pdf

Storytelling

People have been enthusiastic about the experience! Come rewrite your personal narrative with Francina! This class is included for Multiverse School Students.

**This Week: Collaborative Problem-Solving and Creative Expression

Junior & Senior Devs:

This week (product week) we will: - Review code, Give and Receive NASK Feedback for a Code Review - Perform user interviews - Plan a feature based on the user interviews - Do a Retrospective - Finish your goals you set at the beginning of the week

This will honestly help with your capacity to be perceived and also give you the chance to practice honest and effective feedback. Come if you have problems with this.
