Hey Multiverse Crew,

What a monumental week we've had! The winds of change blew in a handful of eager minds as we kicked off interviews for our November cohort. The energy is crackling with anticipation as we gear up to welcome the new faces who will soon be part of our ever-evolving Multiverse.

Here’s what’s happening:

Media and Games Career & Industry Talk: Blake Morse

Free to All, not just Multiverse Students

On Wednesday, at 12 Pacific we have a special guest, Blake Morse, who will host an extended workshop. If the gaming or media industry beckons you, this session is your call to adventure. Blake, with his rich history as the editor-in-chief of the internet's oldest video gaming website, is your guide to navigating the gaming and media terrain. He’s been there, done that, from podcasts to editorial – a maestro who’s ready to help chart your course in these dynamic fields. This session is open to all, whether you’re a Multiverse student or not. It’s free for everyone savvy enough to hop onto our server. Blake’s workshop is a treasure trove of industry insights that could catalyze your career trajectory.

Learn to Code Class

Thursday at 5pm Pacific. This week, we’re thrilled to welcome new students who will be joining us sporadically for the Stand Ups. As they take their first steps into the coding realm, many of you are advancing into your project phase. It's a beautiful contrast that enriches our community, making the learning experience more layered and interactive.

As we sail into this new phase, we’re rekindling our roots with the 'Learn to Code' sessions. It's like coming home, but with a twist. Whether you're a seasoned coder or just embarking on this journey, these sessions are designed to stoke the embers of curiosity and challenge your understanding. We're diving deeper, peeling back layers, and exploring coding from fresh, diverse angles.

If you've been riding the coding wave and are ready to articulate your experience, gear up for a vibrant exchange of ideas. I'll be tossing some questions your way, and your responses are the magic that'll enrich our collective learning journey. The ‘Learn to Code’ times are morphing into a cauldron of interactive exploration, and your engagement is the secret ingredient that'll make this brew spectacular.

CyberSecurity

Coming up on Monday night at 5PM Pacific is our Cybersecurity session. The spotlight is on the Blue Team’s Common Certification class, focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM). We’ll dive deeper into IAM, explore the realms of multi-authentication, and unravel the simplicity and security of single sign-on. It’s a journey into the heart of cybersecurity that promises to be both enlightening and engaging.

AI Class

On Tuesdays at 5PM is AI & Agents. Here's the Agents Assignment if you haven’t started. This week we’ll begin a higher-level of abstraction and autonomy, by working together on an Agent-Building Agent. Wrestling with the building of your own task-prosecution agent will help you to understand how we can encode this process into software.

Here’s the deal—our AI class is a deep dive into Agents and ACEs (Autonomous Cognitive Entities). What does that mean for you? Two words: Real. Impact.

Agents: Think of them as your personal digital chefs. Picture this—you dump info about what’s in your fridge, and boom! Out comes a meal plan. Agents are all about taking specific inputs and generating equally specific outputs, even if it means a multi-stage process is executed behind the scenes. Think of both the chef as an agent, but ChatDev is similarly, an agent composed of other agents.

ACEs: These are where we take agency to the next level. Each of you will be creating your own Autonomous Cognitive Entities, instilling them with values, goals, and limits. No Skynet on our watch—we’ll also be doing red teaming exercises to bulletproof our creations against potentially apocalyptic scenarios.

This isn’t just another class; it’s a mission. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves doing your part to literally stop the AI apocalypse. We’ll build agents over the next week and register them in a directory of agents for the Multiverse.

Mentorship Program

Great news—most of you have now been paired with a mentor. Remember, teaching two classes a month or participating in a work-study with scholarship options are your tickets to a free TheMultiverse.School membership. Interested in mentorship? Sign up here.

New Classes

Keep your eyes peeled; new classes will be announced next week! Our mentors are hard at work finalizing class abstracts. There's something on the horizon for 3D Modeling, Visual Effects, Image Generation, Text to Video, Cloud Deployment, Storytelling, Podcasting, and Jungian Divination.

Student Recruitment

We're almost fully booked! Woah! In two weeks! We'll be closing applications soon, and won't accept too many more students before the end of the year. Make sure your friends get their applications in by the deadline! (November 5th!) If they don't you'll have to... ask someone for an extension! [lightning flashes, scary music] (yes just encourage people to apply, but if they delay they'll end up being enrolled for the $1000/mo rate!)

Student Website Directory

We're building a directory of your personal websites to showcase your work. Even if your site isn't complete, go ahead and fill out this form. This will not only help you in job hunting but also serve as an example for other students!
